How to Apply for a Scholarship:

Fill out the scholarship application (one per student) with all necessary attachments and submit to the H.E.L.P. Foundation by the proper due date. If a family does not have the application in on time, or doesn't include the proper attachments required on the application form, then they are not to be considered for a scholarship by the review committee.

The scholarship review committee will consider any recommendations, financial circumstances, and the submitted paragraph regarding family situations when making its decision regarding the disbursement of the available scholarship funds. The H.E.L.P. Foundation has absolute discretion regarding grant/scholarship awards.

Please complete the application and send with all attachments to the H.E.L.P. Foundation for scholarship consideration. Please note that there is now only one application and also a new attachment, the School Verification Form, which mush be filled out by the school and sent in with the application.

Who is Eligible?

Awards/scholarships made by the H.E.L.P. Foundation can only be used for tuition for students attending grades K-12 in one of our twelve Lutheran Schools in the State of Arizona. The law states that scholarships must be for K-12 students only. The law understands Kindergarten to be the grade before first grade, not K-4 or preschool.

If your child will be attending one of our schools as a K-12 student for the first time in the fall, you may apply for a scholarship during the previous school year. The school can hold the funds for your child until you start paying tuition in the fall. You will need to fill out the appropriate scholarship application for your child to be eligible for a scholarship.

All scholarship money awarded to a student will be sent directly to the student’s school to be applied toward tuition.

When are the Applications Due?

Summer Awards - June 30, 2010 (effective for all three scholarship awards)

Winter Awards - September 30, 2010 (effective for the winter and spring award periods)

Spring Awards - January 15, 2011 (effective only for the spring 2011 scholarship award)

When are the tax credit scholarships actually awarded to the students?

The H.E.L.P. Foundation awards scholarship money to students three times each year.

Donations received from January 1 – June 30, will be awarded to students in August.

Donations received from July 1 – September 30, will be awarded to students in November.

Donations received from October 1 - December 31 will be awarded to students in the following spring.
